Oupa LLC (“Oupa”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the website oupahome.com and the Stay or Move decision tool. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have in relation to it.

When you use the Stay or Move assessment, we collect:

  • Your first name — optional, used to personalise your report greeting
  • Your answers to the 15 assessment questions — used to generate your personalised report

  • The content of your message

Information collected automatically

When you visit oupahome.com, we automatically collect certain technical information through Plausible Analytics, a privacy-respecting analytics service. This includes:

  • Pages visited and time spent on each page
  • General geographic location (country and region — not precise location)
  • Device type and browser
  • Referring website

Plausible Analytics does not use cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information. It does not track you across websites. We use it solely to understand how our site is used in aggregate so we can improve it.

How We Use Your Information

To deliver your report

Your assessment answers are used to generate your personalised Stay or Move report. This is the primary purpose for which you provided the information. Your report is sent to the email address you provided immediately after you complete the assessment.

To send you guides and follow-up content

After you receive your report, we will send you a small collection of practical guides covering the areas relevant to your results — safety, finances, support, lifestyle, and health. These are sent over the following weeks via Beehiiv, our email platform.

You can unsubscribe from these emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email we send you.

To personalise recommendations

We may use your assessment answers to personalise recommendations for products and services we think may be relevant to your situation. This may include services from third-party providers. We will always be transparent about any commercial relationships.

We will not use your information to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you without your knowledge.

To improve our service

We use aggregate, anonymised assessment data to improve the quality of the decision tool, the accuracy of the report, and the relevance of the guides we produce. No individual user is identifiable in this analysis.

To communicate with you

If you contact us, we use your information to respond to your message. We do not add you to our mailing list from a direct contact enquiry without your explicit consent.

Commercial referrals

Oupa may earn referral fees from contractors and service providers we recommend to users. When we make such recommendations, we will disclose the commercial relationship clearly. We never take referral fees from senior care facilities.

Legal requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or government authority, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Oupa, our users, or others.

Business transfers

If Oupa is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you by email and/or a prominent notice on our website before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Data Retention

We retain your assessment data indefinitely for the following reasons:

  • To improve the accuracy and relevance of our decision tool over time

You can request deletion of your data at any time by emailing hello@oupahome.com. We will delete your personal information within 30 days of receiving a verified deletion request, except where we are required by law to retain it.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:

  • Access controls limiting who within Oupa can access personal data
